Crew Life at Sea had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2025 Career Fair in Windhoek, Namibia, a major event where young talents from Namibia and beyond gathered to explore career opportunities. The event, held on February 27th and 28th, 2025, at the DELK Community Center, was an essential meeting point for students, businesses, and educational institutions, creating a space for meaningful interactions and valuable connections.
This year, the fair saw strong international participation, with a notable presence of German and European companies actively seeking new talent. Many of these businesses were looking for young professionals for internships or full-time positions. It was a clear sign of the growing global interest in the Namibian talent pool. For anyone attending, the fair was not only about discovering job openings but also about immersing themselves in the various training programs, learning about different industries, and gaining advice from seasoned professionals.

Over 30 exhibitors provided an array of information and resources on different sectors, training programs, and career paths. Visitors had the chance to engage in real, personal discussions, ask questions, and get insights that could shape their professional futures. Whether it was about the day-to-day life in a company or the specific qualifications needed for certain positions, the fair offered a space for individuals to gather the information they needed to make informed decisions.

At CrewLifeAtSea, we were particularly excited about the fair because it gave us the chance to meet potential future team members who are passionate about maritime careers. As a company always looking to recruit German-speaking individuals to join our crews aboard ships, the event offered a direct route to connect with young professionals eager to embark on their journey at sea. For many, this fair could very well mark the beginning of a career they’ve always dreamed of in the maritime industry.
At the fair, we also had the honor of receiving support from the German Embassy during the event. The embassy provided crucial information on visa procedures and other practical matters for those interested in pursuing careers with German or international companies. This support made it easier for attendees to navigate the sometimes complex logistics of working abroad, particularly when it comes to securing the right visa or understanding legal requirements.
The Career Fair was not just about job opportunities—it was a space for discovery, learning, and making first steps towards securing a professional future. Many attendees walked away with new knowledge, new connections, and a clearer sense of direction for their next career move. For us, it was an inspiring reminder of the incredible potential of young people in Namibia and across Africa.
For Crew Life at Sea, this fair was a great success, and we are already looking forward to participating again in future editions. Whether you're a student looking for your first job or a professional seeking new opportunities, events like this provide a unique platform to meet people, ask questions, and explore a world of possibilities.
