  • Has a degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary institution and at least 1 year of prior related experience outside the U.S. Proficient in English at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • A full-time student at an accredited, classroom-based post-secondary academic institution outside the US who has completed at least one semester. Proficient in English at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Currently enrolled at a foreign post-secondary academic institution outside the U.S. Proficient in English at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Graduated from a post-secondary academic institution outside the U.S. no more than 12 months prior to the program start date. Proficient in English at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Has 5 years of experience in the field in which you are training (no degree required). Proficient in English at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • To be eligible for the J1 Visa program, applicants must have their own funds to cover certain expenses, as most costs will be at your own expense

While the program provides valuable work experience and opportunities for professional growth, it’s essential to be financially prepared to ensure a smooth transition and a successful experience abroad.

  1. Application costs typically range from R20,000 to R80,000 which includes flights, meals, and living expenses.
  2. The exact costs may differ depending on the company you choose.
  3. In a year, you could earn between R600,000 and R800,000.
